SPRING TEAM is run by the WGAM (Women's Golf Association of Massachusetts). You must join the WGAM (handicap index of 30.4
or less) to participate. The WGAM also sponsors many tournaments
for members of all handicaps.

Format: individual match play net. Each hole = 1 pt.; ties = 1/2 pt. Team match score = sum of their players' scores
Cup champion = team with the most total points from the 5 matches
Championship team members are awarded WGAM pins.
The Captains fields 2 Spring Teams. Of the players who have signed up: Team #1 -> players with the 5 lowest hcp. indexes;
Team #2 -> players with the next 5 lowest indexes.
Players who belong to the WGAM can be substitutes.

Spring Team matches provide competition among players of similar handicaps. Teams are arranged into "Cups" according to each team's aggregate handicap index.
6 clubs are in each Cup; all clubs play each other club once. Matches are held on 5 Thursdays in late April through late May. Matches usually are shotgun starts; opponents golf in twosomes. Scores are posted as "T", tournament, scores.
